The Edwardsville/Glen Carbon Chamber of Commerce congratulates the Village of Glen Carbon for making Money Magazine’s list of America’s best small towns.

The Village of Glen Carbon is among the top 100 best places to live according to Money Magazine. Most noteworthy, this national recognition was neither applied nor paid for by the Village. Glen Carbon, with a population of 12,500, is praised for its wide selection of affordable housing, abundant vegetation, and strong community spirit, including its annual Homecoming festival. Moreover, the Village of Glen Carbon is one of only three communities in Illinois to receive this unsolicited recognition.

Money Magazine’s researchers surveyed small towns across America, ranging in size from 8,500 to 50,000 residents, gathering data on median household income, population growth, crime rates, school quality, cost of living, leisure, health care, unemployment levels, diversity, weather, housing costs and other ease of living criteria. Based on this independent research, Glen Carbon is recognized as number 91 among American’s best places to live!
